Plot Suggestions
« Thread started on: Dec 16th, 2008, 02:08am » |
|
I was thinking on the fact that there are only 3-5 of us active at the moment (depending on whether Teazer and Taintie come back), and a thought struck me.
What if everyone currently missing from the Junkyard is not (at least for the moment) coming back? As in they are captured, missing, dead, presumed dead, or something along those lines? We could take any characters we wanted and somehow get rid of the rest for the moment, to be brought back as needed by new members, and we can have a new plot thread in the process.
What does everyone think?

I think that sounds good. It's a shame we don't have any baddies at the moment, aside from Triskadelia. But missing, captured, etc., would give us something to go off of.
How is Teazer doing? I hope everything is well.

I like it! I've been feeling kind of bad about our dwindling numbers, and this would be a good place to do something different. You wouldn't wipe the board again, would you? Simply because there are so many good threads and posts that would be lost. But I like the idea; it explains why there are so few of us. If we can work out a game plan for how we go about this, I think it would work beautifully.
I wish I knew for certain if Taintie was coming back, but I think she is so busy with her own RP and stuff that she probably won't be, contrary to her post from our last cattle call. And how is your sister doing? I've been worried about her not popping in.
ETA: I am loving the new color scheme!

Thanks about the color scheme. I figured I could sort of do whatever I wanted with it now that it's not really attached to any website.
Actually, I went net surfing yesterday to see if I could reconnect with any of the websites I used to be quite familiar with and I ended up rediscovering "Now And Forever: A CATS Webdirectory." It was still active, so I made sure The Back Room as its own website was listed. Hopefully it'll get us a bit more traffic than we've been getting. If anyone has any other similar ideas, run them by me!
Back on topic, no, I definitely wouldn't wipe the board again. I think this is the best storyline we've ever had! So if everyone is in agreement, anyone want to begin on the game plan? Obviously, we don't need it TOO planned out, but we need a general idea of what's going to happen.
I think Teazer will be coming back. She's had a pretty rough semester (as in "psycho teacher whom everyone in the class will be filing a complaint against rough) but our last finals were today and so we've got almost a month of break ahead of us!

And I still miss the Hideout! But hopefully, with your new link, we can add to our numbers.
Yay! Thanks for not wiping it! I think your idea definitely has potential. I'm sorry I kind of jumped ahead with things in my last post, assuming that Cinder was being used to distract us. If you don't like that, I can change it. Is there some reason Macavity would want the Junkyard? Is it bigger than his warehouse? In a more central location? I'm trying to think of why he would want to get rid of everyone to gain control of the Yard.
I'm glad to hear that Teazer's okay. Mean professors suck. I hope said professor doesn't have tenure, because if the professor does, they can't do anything about it. I don't think. . . But anyway, sweet freedom! For a month, at least. Take your time. I know the holidays are a busy time, so life comes first. Glad you're free, though!

I kinda miss the Hideout too. It was really starting to get good when we made the decision to close it. Maybe someday it'll come back; I've already considered it a couple times, so we'll see if those considerations ever come to anything. Now that I think about it, I'd be hard-pressed to remember my HTML off the top of my head. It'd take some relearning, but I'd be willing to do it because the website was a lot of fun.
Anyway, USFRumpleteazer, I think your post added a good idea to the story! It works around what was already established: that Cinder wanted to escape. Maybe Macavity found out and decided to solve two problems in one? Put the "traitor" to good use, y' know?
I always thought of Macavity as the classic power-crazy bad guy; basically, I always thought he just wanted to be in power over everything and everyone, a dictator of the cat world, of sorts. However, I'd be totally open to adding to/changing that, since it's really a pretty vague idea. I think realistically a motive would be something more like power-craziness plus practical things like the ones you mentioned.

If anyone wants to, you can use the fact that Teazer has been MIA for some time to the story's advantage. Maybe she has some little clues somehow, or she hid and saw a tiny bit of what happened, or something along those lines. Just something to consider.
By the way, hello to all after a long absence!

TEAZER!!!! You don't know how happy I am to see you! Well, your post, anyway. I'm sorry you were having such a hard time with one of your professors; hopefully, you won't have them again!
I like your idea of Teazer seeing things. You could do either one, but the latter option would mean you would have to have read all of the extra stuff I posted as Coricopat in Macavity's. If you haven't already, I don't know if you'd want to; I don't even remember how many pages we did. But it's completely up to you, you are Rumpleteazer (yay, you're back ), so whatever works best for you.
Jerrie: That's kind of how I see Macavity, too, simply for the fact that I can't think of a good reason why not. I don't know what his logical reasoning would be for controlling the Yard, except that their house is al fresco.
I'm glad you liked my post! Thanks! Not sure what I'm doing with Triskadelia, though. I put her in there because I wanted to play her, with no thought in mind as to what to do once she got there. The Cinder bit kind of complicates things, but it should be interesting to play out.

I think it's safe to say that Taintie is, at least for now, out of the game. So what to do about George and Lily?

A curious question, where do we want to go with this story, and who has the reins?

I have no clue where we're going with it. And Jerrie's got 'em, I think. . .
I like seeing Daine back, by the way.

lol! That's a funny coincidence with the year!
Yeah, Jerrie had them, but definitely if anyone has suggestions post them here. Maybe I'll make this a sticky for plot suggestions...anyone in favor of that?
