Jerrie followed along with the group but kept silent. He'd get farther by sitting back and listening than he would trying to be heard in this particular crowd. He was glad he wasn't having trouble keeping Etcetera close - she was sticking to him like glue. Still, he kept his protecting arm in place around her shoulders.
When Shasha asked if anything else was happening, Jerrie struggled to recall what they had and had not told him. His head was a mess from being hit with one shock after another. Had they told him his and Teazer's home had been ransacked? He figured he may as well say it as not.
" 'Ey, guv'nor, Oi dunno if this 'as any bearing wotsoever on the situation, but Oi suppose it's worth notin' that somone broke into our place earlier - mine 'n my sister's. Seemed someone wos lookin' for somethin'."
He spoke hesitantly, not wanting to lead anyone astray from the conversation and not wanting to distract from the mission at hand: investigating the car.
(Daine)
Daine balanced himself expertly on the junkyard fence, watching and listening, a number of papers in his hand. Outwardly he was as calm and collected as ever, but inwardly he was disturbed.
He was often in the habit of spending time in the library of Macavity's Hideout, to the point of becoming a familiar of the ancient tom who kept records of all kinds. All of Macavity's recent activity at the Junkyard had brought Mungojerrie again to his interest and on a whim he'd looked up his records. Interesting reading, those records...he fancied that none in the Junkyard knew quite so much about Jerrie and his sister - in fact, he fancied that not even the duo themselves knew quite so much. And yet his reading left Daine with far more questions than answers. And it was because of this interest that he watched, listened, and waited.

Munkustrap stumbled his way through familiar wreckage and junk. Finally, some place I remember... He thought.
The last thing he could remember was stepping out of his owners house for the Junkyard to discuss this years Jellicle Ball with Old Deuteronomy. Then things where a blur with flashes and glimpses of pollicles, The Rumpus Cat, steak and kidney pie, and an old woman who Munkustrap couldn't Identify.
He managed to stop and focus on a few cats talking in earnest voices. Other than those few Jellicles the Junkyard was barren. The place had never looked so lonely. Some of the rubbish one the ground moved towards him like a kitten who had missed him. He jumped back and toppled a pile of rubbish, the clanging and noise cause him to jump again but the pile fell onto him, pinning him to the ground.
Well this wasn't the entry I had in mind... he thought.

"What was that?" Etcetera asked anxiously, her fingers vise-like on Jerrie's arm. In her overactive and disaster-prone mind, their little group was surrounded by murderous henchcats, just waiting for a signal from their grinning, unnerving leader, Shasha. She knew that cat was no good. Knew it from the first time she saw him.
Coricopat glanced in the direction of the noise, but was torn between investigating the source of it and keeping a watchful eye on the current bane of his existence, Triskadelia.

Alonzo nodded as Jerrie related his information. He'd forgotten to mention that. Maybe Shasha could connect the incident with something about the other tribe.
At the sudden noise, his ears pricked forward and he wondered if all should move toward it, or just a few. Who would be safe with their new 'friends'?
Tantomile turned her mind toward the sound, and smiled reassuringly at Coricopat. No need for alarm. It is a friend. Although, I do not yet know who.
Deciding, it might be better if everyone stayed still, Alonzo called out to the noisemaker.
"Who's there? Come out where we can see you."

Munkustrap heard Alonzo's voice from a distance, "Come out where we can see you."
He slinked out through all the wreckage he'd created. When he looked up he noticed everyone looking alarmed at him. Ecetera was even looking horrified.
"Relax," he said slightly annoyed, "It's me, Munkustrap." He smiled at everyone in turn until he came upon the mysterious new cat. His smile slipped away as he eyed the cat up and down. "And who might you be?" he said with a bit more edge in his voice than he would have liked. "Forgive me," he said quickly, "its just a crucial time in the year for us."
Now that he had come into the Junkyard proper it had an eerie feel to it, as if someone had decorated it for haloween by simply removing everyone. "Where is everyone?" he finally adressed, "We should be getting ready, we can't have a ball with just the few of us here."

"Munk, you crazy oaf, you scared the wits outta me!" Teazer cried. Clearly the tension was taking its toll on her nerves.

(Shasha)
He gazed at Mungojerrie, listening to his tale, regarding the breaking and entering. Judging by his looks, it seemed to Shasha that Mungojerrie had done a fair bit of breaking and entering himself.
"Are you certain that nothing was taken? It might have significance..."
Snapping briefly to nod at Munkustrap he returned to looking at Mungojerrie.
(Mistofelees)
He lit up, seeing their leader appear, and ran closer to him, stopping and smilling at him.

Alonzo, relieved to see their leader return to do his job, strode toward Munkustrap to speak in a low voice.
"You don't know how glad I am to see you. Everyone's missing, except the few of us here. That queen in the center is Triskadelia. She's a henchcat that we caught scoping out the Junkyard. And that ... tom over there is Shasha and he just showed up telling us about a tribe in Scotland which disappeared. It could be a coincidence, but we don't think so."
Exotica's tense posture relaxed slightly at the sight of their leader. He would surely take the reins and turn the whole situation around. She smiled at him, but remained beside Tantomile.

Coricopat breathed a sigh of relief when Munkustrap came into view. Thank Bast he was still there. Not that Alonzo couldn't do his role capably, but there was a sense of reassurance with Munkustrap. Looking around, he noticed that all from their tribe were looking at the tabby tom expectantly, even hopefully. Coricopat felt their anxiety roll toward Munkustrap like a wave.
"Well, hello there, handsome," Triskadelia called, standing in profile as she buffed her lacquered nails on her shoulder.

As everyone he knew gave him a glance of caution, relief, and almost panic in some faces he realized that something was up, and it wasn't the lack of people for the Ball. He smiled at Mistofolees and Alonzo. When he Heard Alonzo he replied in a hushed voice, "Then We'll have our own conference in private later, yes there is a sister tribe in Scotland, although I don't know any members there and Father still handles communication with other tribes as far as I know. For now, someone needs to keep an eye on Triskadella, I want to know if Macavity is suffering from these disappearances as well."
He moved from this little huddle and focused his attention on Shasha, listening intently and keeping a blank face. Munkustrap liked to think that he could guess the intentions of cats rather easily, afterall his only mistake was Grizabella. But this cat was so....exotic that he couldn't make heads or tails of his intentions.

"Well...Oi can't roightly say Oi know for sure, guv'nor. We 'aven't 'ad much chance to check it out yet. But when we do you kin be sure Oi'll let ev'ryone know. But roight now Oi really think we oughta get movin' where we wos originally goin'. There moight be someone in there an' they moight need our 'elp."
He didn't want to worry Etcetera, but he did want to remind everyone of the urgency of the situation. He had never been one for a lot of chat and speculation...but then, perhaps that was why he'd gotten into so many scrapes.

(Shasha)
He nodded courtly at Munkustrap, and looked to Mungojerrie.
"The orange one speaks the truth. We should keep moving."
(Mistofelees)
He skit a little closer, and whispered to Munkustrap. "I really don't like that guy... Do we have to bring him along?"

Alonzo nodded at Munkustrap's information. He didn't realize they had a sister tribe. In fact, he hadn't given much thought to any other tribe at all. Munkustrap taking the lead was exactly as he wished, so he stepped back and trained his eyes on Triskadelia.

At Munkustrap's order to have herself watched, Triskadelia gaped at him, then whirled around to face Coricopat, knowing that he'd take the command personally. She glared at the tom pointedly.
"Fine, fine," Coricopat replied, holding his hands up, palms out. His mood seemed as black as hers.
"I'll watch 'er," Morgan chimed in, looking and sounding nonchalant about the whole thing. She hadn't done anything so far to warrant any strict security in his eyes, so he was content with simply keeping an eye on her.
Mungojerrie's comment brought Etcetera's mother back to the fore.
"Momma," she said, her voice both desperate and hopeful, as she broke away from Jerrie and ran toward the car.

(Mistofelees)
Seeing Etcetera run, he went hot on her heels. No one should run around on their own. He half expected to be chewed out for it, but weighted her going alone contra her not being alone, and decided that it'd be worth the risk.
(Shasha)
Watched the black tom jump after that little queen and smiled a little wider.
"His devotion to his friends is commendable."
